Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd follows the recent success of previous albums Blue Banisters and Chemtrails Over The Country Club, which were released last year to critical acclaim.
Lana has revealed the title track "Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" written by Lana Del Rey and Mike Hermosa and produced by Lana Del Rey, Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson and Zach Dawes.
In an interview conducted by Billie Eilish for Interview, Del Rey revealed that she wanted the music for the album to have "a spiritual element". She also revealed that making the album felt "totally effortless".
The closing track, 'Taco Truck x VB', was immediately suspected by fans to sample, interpolate, or involve her 2018 song 'Venice Bitch' in some way following the release of the tracklist; in an interview with Rolling Stone UK, Del Rey confirmed these suspicions.
