Talk Talk’s Very Best Of reissue, on 2LP and CD, is a newly re-ordered and now career-spanning compilation. Changes to the original 1997 release put Talk Talk’s greatest hits in chronological order and with a new inclusion from the band’s final album, Laughing Stock. Townsend Music is offering a giveaway of the Double Vinyl format to mark the release.

Formed in 1981 by the late Mark Hollis, Lee Harris and Paul Webb, Talk Talk started as a synth pop group and were often compared with Duran Duran and Roxy Music. Their first two albums The Party's Over (1982) and It's My Life (1984) brought the band attention with hit singles 'Talk Talk' and 'It's My Life'.

After the success of their two albums, the band looked to transition their sound from synth pop to a more experimental sound in the mid-1980s with the album The Colour Of Spring (1986), this album brought the hit single 'Life's What You Make It'.

“The reason you’re doing it is for the love of music.  It’s not, to like, try and get some kind of commerciality.” - Mark Hollis

Ten years after forming, Talk Talk released their final studio album, Laughing Stock, in 1991. Shortly after its release, the band split up. Since their breakup, Talk Talk has influenced and been cited by numerous musicians, including Tears for Fears, Radiohead, Doves, and Steven Wilson. Many have praised the band for their artistic integrity, refusing to compromise their creative vision throughout their career.
